Fruiting body is a term often used to describe the mushroom part of a fungus. Most of the fungus stays below ground and out of sight, constantly working to help organic matter decay. We don't usually see this process and the mushroom is the only proof we have of the fungus' existence. Similarly, decay is a constant force of nature in our relationships and in our homes but often we don't notice it until the fruiting body appears.
Fruiting Body III is the third in a series of sculptures commenting on the cyclical nature of decay and growth in our relationships and homes.
