Made of grasping hands and bed sheets, “Everything is Fine” is about the uneasy relationship survivors of trauma and depression have with sleep. Sleep offers a blissfully blank space, an escape from the bad thoughts and memories of trauma and the lifelessness of depression, but it can also be excruciatingly elusive and unsettled. Usually coming in doses either far too small or too large, sleep itself becomes an act of grasping or a state of overwhelm for those who struggle with these mental foes.
