Infringing Forest

installation dimensions 10 ft x 15 ft x 5 ft
2011
Infringing Forest was installed in the downtown center of the city of Tacoma, making its use of natural imagery and natural materials a contrast to it's urban surroundings. Often life in an urban setting leads to us forgetting about the wilderness that still surrounds us. Infringing Forest acts as a memorial to this disappearing wilderness by pulling passers-by out of their urban focus and reminding them that the wilderness is still out there.
Infringing Forest was a temporary installation completed in association with Spaceworks Tacoma.
